Freesat – “brilliant TV for everyone”
Freesat is a new free-to-view digital satellite television service made available from ITV and the BBC. As with Freeview, there is no monthly subscription or contract to sign. It is a single set up payment. At the present time there is a choice of over 80 TV and radio channels to choose from but that will expand up to 200 by the year end.
Included ion the service is High Definition Television (HDTV) from ITV-HD and BBC-HD. HDTV provides five times greater picture detail that produces richer, deeper and much more life like images and colours along with incredible sound. Altogether it gives you a brilliant quality viewing and listening experience.
BBC HD
Some of the programming available via BBC HD includes:
- Strictly Come Dancing
- The Chelsea Flower Show
- Torchwood
- Planet Earth
- Glastonbury
- and many more
ITV HD
Not only do you get ITV programming, but ITV HD offers a unique red-button service exclusive to Freesat users. When you’re watching ITV1 via Freesat and a HD logo appears on the screen, it is a signal for you to press the red button on your remote control and instantly the programme will be received in marvellous high definition.
